What does a typical online counselling session look like?
Sophie provides counselling sessions for individuals that are 50-60 minutes in length and accessed through online video conferencing. To attend these sessions you will need a stable internet connection and a quiet, private place to talk.
What does a typical in-person counselling session look like?
Is there anything I need to know before I book?
You will be asked to complete an intake form before the first session and a counselling agreement and a link for accessing the video conferencing session will be emailed to you beforehand.
No commitment beyond the session you have booked.
A reminder will be sent to you X days out
What happens if I can’t attend a booking?
CANCELLATION POLICY.
Depending on what you would like to discuss during the sessions, the first 1 or 2 sessions may be focussed on getting to know you and what brings you to counselling and then together you and Sophie will put together a plan for how to make best use of future sessions. If Sophie thinks that there is a different mental health professional who would be better suited to meeting your needs, she will provide you with a referral.
What should I do before my first counselling session?
The focus of counselling sessions is on YOU. You are the greatest expert of your own life, but the purpose of the sessions is on exploring your experiences, your needs, your insight and your next steps.
